Alexandra Kollia graduated in 2013 from the Department of Materials Science of the University of Patras, where she also completed her postgraduate studies (MSc) in the interdisciplinary program (IPS) Engineering and Technology of Polymers. She conducted her thesis, focused on innovative biomaterials as biotechnology products, at the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, where she also worked until 2017 in research projects specializing in the manufacture of environmentally friendly construction materials and the study of their sustainability and life cycle. Since 2018, she continued her research activity at the Laboratory of Advanced Materials and Structures of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaly in Larissa. She was responsible in the R&D department for the implementation of national and international research projects on topics such as biomimetics, environmental assessment of materials and structures, investigation and modelling of degradation and failure mechanisms. At the same time, she took part in presentations at European conferences and in the writing of scientific publications. From January 2023 she has been working at MK ENGINEERS MYKONOS.
